Appliance Repair in Santa Barbara

Dear Friends,

No one wants to deal with a malfunctioning appliance, but it happens. And when it does, it can be quite a hassle, so, of course, you want the repair visit to go as smoothly as possible. Here are a few ways you can make that happen.

1. Prepare Your Schedule
It may take your repair tech only moments to make the repairs, but it could take hours – depending on the parts they need.

Most repairmen have the most commonly-needed parts and tools on them. However, sometimes, they need to go pick something up or even order necessities.

Additionally, the specific issue can dictate the length of time they need. For example, simply needing to swap out an easily accessible part shouldn’t take long. However, if they need to take the appliance apart, it’s going to take much longer.

In short, it’s best to keep your schedule as open as possible for the day of your repairs. And if they finish quickly enough, you have some time open for yourself.

2. Prepare Your Home
You don’t have to have a spotless house to undergo repairs, but there are a couple of things you can do to make it easier.

Make sure the appliance is accessible: For instance, if your washer or dryer needs repairs, don’t have all of your dirty laundry baskets sitting directly in front of them. Also, make sure the path from the door to the appliance is free of clutter.

Have the appliance cleaned: This isn’t about impressing the repairman. It’s about making sure they can accurately assess the issue. For example, take any laundry out of your washer and dryer. Or if your fridge needs repairs, make sure it’s not overstuffed. You need to keep your food cold, of course, but try to make sure the repairman has space to actually look in your fridge if needed.

3. Prepare Pets and Little Ones
If you have young children or pets in the home, you want to keep them occupied in another area. This is for a couple of reasons.

Most importantly, you want to keep them safe. While your repairman will do their utmost to keep everyone out of harm’s way, accidents happen. Keeping pets and little ones out of the work area can go a long way in ensuring their safety.

Also, you don’t want anything interfering with the repairman’s ability to get the job done. Four-legged creatures and babies and toddlers can be distracting, especially while the repairman is trying to prevent any danger to them. It’s easier and faster if they can get in and focus solely on their job.

4. Prepare Paperwork
In some cases, you’ll need to show the repairman your warranty or any work invoices for previous repairs. Having this type of paperwork within reach is much easier than having to find it on the spot.

If you would like us to inspect your appliance, simply schedule a service call for one of our technicians to come out to your home.  There is no charge for the inspection if we repair your appliance.  Call (805) 966-2846 or send an email to [email protected]
